Dr. Courtney Radsch is the Advocacy Director at the Committee to Protect Journalists. As a veteran journalist, researcher, and free expression advocate she writes and speaks frequently about the nexus of media, technology, and human rights. Dr. Radsch has worked as a journalist in the U.S. and Middle East with Al-Arabiya, the Daily Star, and The New York Times and is the author of Cyberactivism and Citizen Journalism in Egypt: Digital Dissidence and Political Change. Dr. Radsch has led advocacy missions and media assessments to more than a dozen countries and the United Nations and has participated in US, OSCE and UN expert consultations on digital rights, countering violent extremism, human rights and media. She is a board member of the ACOS Alliance on journalist safety, a term member of the Council on International Relations, and an active member of the Internet Society and the National Press Club.
