A conversation about finding solidarity and creating communities in siloed organizations
Power structures often remain in place because people feel isolated, siloed off from their colleagues. If folks don’t know there are other people who feel the same way, how can they ever band together to fight toxic behavior, environments and demands?
This conversation is aimed at motivating and empowering people to break through the organizational barriers and find common ground – of varying substance – with colleagues beyond their immediate team. We’ll share past experiences of how we’ve found solidarity in unexpected places, and what resulted from creating communities around various commonalities. We’re also excited to hear your experiences and challenges about this topic, too!
This session is good if you are new to a team or if you feel isolated at work.
This conversation is part catharsis, part active collaboration. We’ll swap tales (success stories and disappointments) about finding unexpected allies, and how or if those coalitions led to meaningful change.
Participants will leave with a discussion-driven list of ideas on how to find allies in surprising places, how to foster those relationships and how to steer them toward making meaningful change. Participants will leave re-energized and empowered to confront toxic work environments and find strategies to motivate change.
