Shirley Qiu is the features producer at The Seattle Times, where she focuses on reaching and engaging audiences on digital platforms. She helped launch the current newsroom mentorship program at the Times last year, and is now working with some of her colleagues to reboot the program, adding more structure and resources for those involved and implementing participant feedback. She is also the national advisory board representative for Seattle’s chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA). She is both a mentor and mentee in AAJA’s mentorship program.
