Raymond Ruiz is the president and founder of EGMN (El Gato Media Network), a 501(c)(3) a journalism and communications education nonprofit. For the past nine years, he has worked with students in Houston on journalism, photography, public relations, social media and media production. Raymond has a master’s degree in gifted education and a bachelor’s degree in technology management from the University of Houston. He has mentored for AAJA, SPJ, NAHJ and Next Generation Radio. When not working with students, he is doing communications consulting for nonprofits and small businesses. Outside of media, he has a passion for helping the community. He co-founded Latino Giving Houston, a philanthropy organization that gives grants to Latino focused nonprofits.
