Jessica Weaver manages the The Texas Tribune's year-round events program, including alll things Texas Tribune Festival, and works with the Tribune's newsroom to craft in-person community engagement experiences around reporting. Before joining the Tribune in 2015, she worked in the Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, for the South by Southwest Festival & Conference, and as a freelance copywriter. A Houston native, Jessica holds a history degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
