Augmented Reality is Your Next Immersive Content Experiment

  • Friday – 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
  • Lone Star C
  • #ONA18AR

Virtual reality journalism has seen challenges in reaching a mass audience, offering possibilities in immersive storytelling but requiring additional hardware. Augmented reality, meanwhile, brings spectacular technology to devices we already own. VR and AR are opening up creative opportunities, but producing cutting-edge content that also has intrinsic value remains challenging, as does using AR and VR in journalism in a way that overcomes the novelty factor and genuinely serves audiences.

This session is designed for:

  • Anyone interested in the next stage of news media technological exploration
  • Newsrooms that want to utilize augmented reality as a storytelling tool
  • Journalists looking to add skill and knowledge sets to their repertoires
  • Speaker Resources
