Nursing, pumping and family resources at ONA18 and in Austin

ONA has reserved a private suite on the fifth floor of the JW Marriott as a secure and quiet space to breastfeed or pump during ONA18. The space will be equipped with comfortable seating, a bathroom and sink, purified water and a small refrigerator to store expressed milk or bottles — as well as some other goodies to keep moms comfortable.

Keys to access this space will be available at the Help area of the main registration desk, and this sign-up sheet is available for women who wish to secure space in advance. The room can accommodate at least two people at a time and will be accessible from Thursday to Saturday night.

For families seeking child care during ONA18, we suggest reaching out to Mom’s Best Friend or using Care.com for your needs. Some parents also post in the ONA18 Facebook group looking to share short-term nanny or babysitting resources.

Austin is full of fun activities for kids of all ages — from checking out the bats at dusk at the Congress Avenue Bridge just down the street from the JW Marriott, to the rescue-focused Austin Zoo, the nearby Capitol Visitors Center, the unique Austin Toy Museum and plenty of parks and other outdoors spaces.
