Since joining in 2014, Daniel Klaidman has helped guide long term-strategy of Yahoo News, and played a major role in building the current, award-winning team of journalists and editors. Klaidman came to Yahoo News from The Daily Beast, where he was the national political correspondent. Prior to The Daily Beast, Klaidman was Newsweek’s managing editor from 2006 to 2011. He served as the magazine’s Washington Bureau Chief from 2001 until 2006, where he led its award winning coverage of 9\/11 and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Before that he was Newsweek's Middle East correspondent, based in Jerusalem. As a Newsweek correspondent, Klaidman wrote or co-authored dozens of cover stories on topics that included politics, war, foreign policy and legal affairs. He was a key part of the teams that won National Magazine Awards for Newsweek’s coverage of 9\/11 and the Monica Lewinsky affair. In 2011, Klaidman was a Ferris Professor of Journalism at Princeton University.
