The Long Reach of Short Form

Short videos, memes and animations — short form content — is the fundamental language of mobile and social media, and news orgs have barely begun to tap into the vast and diverse communities that connect through short form on a variety of social platforms. Instagram Stories and Snapchat are just the beginning. News orgs need to learn to speak the language and go to where these conversations are happening.

This workshop/panel will cover strategies, best-practice and cool tools that news orgs and individuals alike can use right now to begin to develop a presence in this rapidly growing media space. Use cases range from mobile-friendly and easily shareable data animations to brief explainers to trailers designed to push viewers toward fuller stories on your website or Facebook.
