ONA selects over 100 volunteers to support its annual conference, so this is a great opportunity to participate. Our volunteers are a critical part of the conference and help to staff the registration desk, support our exhibit and Midway spaces, guide attendees in finding sessions and greet folks at special events like receptions. Volunteers are required to work a total of eight to 10 hours throughout the conference, with shifts assigned by their team leader.
In return, volunteers get free and guaranteed registration to what has been a sold-out conference for 11 years running. There’s plenty of camaraderie, food and caffeine, and reasonable hours that allow volunteers time to network and take advantage of the inspiring educational sessions at the conference.
Qualifications:
- A love of digital journalism and the journalists who make it happen
- A flexible and friendly approach to resolving questions
- A firm commitment to completing the shift
We’re also giving special consideration to applicants from smaller organizations this year.
